"Frank, it finally happened," said Charlie, as his antennae twitched furtively. "Someone finally generated an imaginary field!"
Concerned, the other butterfly landed in an adjacent pollen sack. Untethered flora biomass splayed around the flower.
"Charlie, what are you talking about?" asked Frank. "The council on imaginary affairs has strictly forbid that!"
Leaning toward Frank, Charlie spoke quietly.
"It wasn't one of us," said Charlie, as he nervously floated and sank. "I'm telling you they broke the grain!"
A quiet inverted humming aligned Frank's antennae toward the wall.
"I wonder whether that's coming from," said Frank, as he rose into the air. "It's clearly on the other side of the wall."
Turning toward the visual barrier, Charlie's antennae rippled in the afternoon breeze.
"You wanted a scoop," said Charlie, as he pulled out a small metal ring. "I'm calling for backup."
Frank tilted his head.
"I've always wondered how you did that," said Frank. "The pool was on a network of favors."
Shaking his head, Charlie said, "Nope. I made a lot of friends in the war."
Antennae perked up, Frank said "You were in the war? I never knew!"
After holding the ring to his proboscis, Charlie performed a complicated sliding dive.
"Alex will be here soon," said Charlie. "He's been faithfully available and it's his shift."
Charlie nudged the ring back under his rear wing.
"We can talk about the war later," said Charlie, as he scanned the horizon. "After you check out that signal."
Charlie dropped down below petal level and came back up with a tiny saddle.
"One more thing," said Charlie, as he loosened the tiny straps. "Have you ever ridden a ladybug?"
