I like to think that everyone is afraid to write. Some solve this by actually spending time writing. The idea for these people seems to be harnessing the fear to productive end. These people finish things - even if they never get published. Everyone else eschews certain parts of the writing process. There are those who hate research - the impulse writers. They do not count the cost - they simply delve in. And most never finish writing the second chapter. There are those who hate the opening scene. These people will often have the end in mind. But they never quite begin the journey. There are those who hate the mind-numbing middle. These people quit when the going gets tough. One might refer to them as fair-weather authors. There are those who hate the end. These people are willing to write and write and write. Their characters seem to take on a life of their own. And the stories never quite resolve. Me?
