Book Ideas II
13|Stereotypes - what if all stereotypes were true
they're "hackable" categorization that anyone can play
professional stereotypers are most influential (they know rituals)
14|Waiting - what if our internal dialog while we're waiting matters
what if we can intentionally define who we are
by changing/controlling what we think about
while we're in between tasks
overnight a NASA engineer could be a homeless person
maybe the purpose of education is to steer people away from this
and those who know the truth are quietly removed or repurposed
15|EnergyX - scientists accidentally create a new energy form
2 slacker scientists working together on a project at home
called "Shadow Energy" - allows you to store energy on the edges
transferable between any two shadows with the right markers
each slacker wastes it; their ambient waste is tracked
.... this idea is falling apart
... which leads too
16|Idea Entropy - how to identify the quality of an idea
bound: intrinsic vs extrinsic
form: ideas that work for stories vs movies, etc
17|Meta - writing about writing about what interests you
few of us have genuinely original thoughts
(which is good - if it was, how would you share it?)
but distinct and new rearrangement of known ideas has merit
what if new thoughts only occur when:
all existing ideas are document
all meaningful combinations of existing ideas have been evaluated
18|Wolves - the known (which wolf you feed) has been established
- expand to include other influences
- successful marketing is when you allow someone else which to feed
- morality plays are designed to choose the "right wolf" by habit
- which leads to - is non-volitional wolf-choice wrong
19|Becoming great - merge statistics
- 10,000 hours makes one an baseline expert
- you can choose what you think about
- thinking -> planning -> doing -> habits
- is being great a good thing
- gumption suckers
20|wordplay
